St. Cajetan of Thiene, Patron Saint of the Unemployed and Job Seekers. Photo from Wikimedia Commons.
Glorious Saint Cajetan, acclaimed by all people to be father of providence because you provide miraculous aid to all who come to you in need, I stand here before you today, asking that you present to the Lord the requests that I confidently deposit in your hands.

(Mention here the graces desired.)

May these graces that I now request help me to always seek the Kingdom of God and his Righteousness, knowing that God — who dresses with beauty the flowers of the field and abundantly feeds the birds of the sky — will give me all other things.

Amen.

Dear Redemptorist Saint, model priest and religious, compassionate toward suffering Mothers, intercede for this expectant Mother. Let her not be selfish like those who are willing to put an end to the life they bear within themselves. Instead, let her remain ever conscious that she is privileged to be the instrument through whom God brings another life into the world. Encourage her for the good of her child and the glory of the Lord of life. Amen.

Thomas More, counselor of law and statesman of integrity, merry martyr and most human of saints:

Pray that, for the glory of God and in the pursuit of His justice, I may be trustworthy with confidences, keen in study, accurate in analysis, correct in conclusion, able in argument, loyal to clients, honest with all, courteous to adversaries, ever attentive to conscience. Sit with me at my desk and listen with me to my clients' tales. Read with me in my library and stand always beside me so that today I shall not, to win a point, lose my soul.

Pray that my family may find in me what yours found in you: friendship and courage, cheerfulness and charity, diligence in duties, counsel in adversity, patience in pain—their good servant, and God's first. Amen.

Our Lady of Penafrancia, Patroness of the Bicol Region, Philippines
Prayer through the Virgin of Peñafrancia

Turn to me your sweet eyes, O most loving Virgin of Peñafrancia, and have mercy on my soul that comes to you full of repentance. Protect my family, my relatives, my friends, and benefactors. Intercede for your devotees, both the living and the departed, especially for those whom I am most obliged to help. Pray for me, console me, and save me. In the hours of peril, adversity, and affliction, above all, in the hour of my death, appear before your divine Son to help me and defend me. Tell Him that I am your devotee. Having complete trust in your protection, I kneel before your miraculous image to ask for your powerful intercession. Virgin of Peñafrancia, pray for me, help me, console me and deliver me from all evil.

Amen.

Download the Novena to Our Lady of Peñafrancia, the first electronic publication of The Prayers Project, here. It is in PDF format and is FREE. You are also free to share it with anyone and everyone. The more people praying, the better for this world.

St. Ignatius of Loyola. Photo from the Jesuits of the New England Province.

Lord, teach me to be generous,
teach me to serve you as you deserve,
to give and not to count the cost,
to fight and not to heed the wounds,
to toil and not to seek for rest,
to labor and not to ask for reward,
save that of knowing that I do your will.

by St. Ignatius of Loyola

It is further hoped that this initiative will bring people together and develop a community of shared beliefs, nurtured by the experiences and the life of each that witness to the faith and the power of prayer.

PURPOSE

The objectives of the Prayers Project are to:

Develop a collection of novenas and prayer guides in digital format and make these available to the public at large;

Build a community of the faithful who are willing to develop, nurture and mature a life of prayer that bears witness to the Faith; and
